Common Crane

The Common Crane or the Eurasian Crane is a medium-sized crane and is slate grey in colour. It is most widely distributed in the crane family. It is a shy bird and flies away as soon as it is approached. Before taking off, it runs for a few meters with it’s wings spread before it can fly. It is a noisy bird too and variations in call can be heard during the nesting season, particularly during their spectacular courtship displays.
